How to install
- Double-click the file you downloaded. Creative Cloud installs it.
- You may see a note that the plugin isn't from the Adobe Marketplace. That's expected since we created it and don't sell it on Adobe Marketplace. Click Install.
- In Photoshop, go to Plugins → Ashe Background Remover → Background Remover.
- Copy your key and paste it into the plugin. You only do this once.
- Using more than one computer? Download and install it on each one, and paste the same key.

Frequently asked questions
Is this an alternative to the remove.bg Photoshop plugin?
Yes. The remove.bg plugin for Photoshop won't be available after December 1, 2026. Our plugin does the same job: select a layer and click once. It adds an editable layer mask so your original photo is never changed and you have complete editing control.

What is a credit?
One credit removes the background from one image. Credits work on this page and in the Photoshop plugin.
What's the difference between a monthly plan and a 1-Time Purchase?
A monthly plan gives you a new batch of credits every month at the lowest price per image. A 1-Time Purchase is a single pack of credits with no subscription. You can have both.
Do unused credits roll over?
Monthly plan credits last until your next renewal date, then a fresh batch arrives. Unused monthly credits don't carry over. 1-Time Purchase credits never expire.
Which credits get used first?
We always use the credits that expire soonest, so your monthly credits are used before your 1-Time Purchase credits.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. Click Manage billing on this page to switch plans or cancel. A plan change takes effect on your next renewal date. If you cancel, you keep the credits you already have until they expire.
What if I run out of credits before my plan renews?
Buy a 1-Time Purchase to keep going. Those credits never expire, so any you don't use stay in your account.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New customers can try 3 images free. We ask for a card to prevent abuse, but you won't be charged. One free trial per account.
What kinds of photos can I use?
JPG, PNG, WebP, and iPhone (HEIC) photos. Very large photos are resized automatically so they can be processed.
What do I get back?
A PNG with a see-through background, ready to drop into your designs.
Does a failed image use a credit?
No. A credit is only used when your image comes back successfully.
How does the Photoshop plugin work?
Download and install the plugin, then copy your plugin key from this page and paste it in. In Photoshop, go to Plugins → Ashe Background Remover → Background Remover, select a layer, and click once. The plugin adds a copy of the layer with an editable layer mask. It uses the same credits as this page.
Can I use the plugin on more than one computer?
Yes. Install it on each computer and paste the same key. Every computer uses the same credits.
Is this included with All Access?
No. Background removal is separate from the All Access membership.
What is your refund policy?
We want you to be happy with your results. Every new account can claim 3 free credits so you can test the tool on your own photos before paying. A card is required, but you won't be charged.
14-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
You can request a full refund if all of these are true:
- It's your first purchase of background removal credits (a monthly plan or a 1-Time Purchase).
- You bought it within the last 14 days.
- You're unhappy with the quality of the results and don't plan to use them.
- You've used 10 or fewer of the credits from that purchase.
- You, your account, and your business haven't received a refund under this guarantee before.
To request one, contact us with the address on your account and a short note about what didn't work. We'll reply within 5 business days. If approved, the payment is returned to your original payment method, and any credits left from that purchase are removed from your account. If it was a monthly plan, the plan is cancelled.
Everything else
- Monthly renewals are not refundable. You can cancel anytime before your subscription renews under Manage billing on the Remove Background page. You keep the credits you already have until they expire.
- Unused credits aren't refundable. Monthly credits expire on your renewal date and don't carry over. 1-Time Purchase credits never expire.
- Failed images never cost a credit. If an image can't be processed, no credit is used, so there's nothing to refund.
- Charged by mistake? If you were charged twice or charged in error, contact us and we'll fix it.
