What is Photo Studio by Ashe Design?

One account and one credit balance for all of our photo tools: Backdrop Blend, Remove Background, Upscale, Photo Enhance, and Enhance + Upscale. It works in your browser on a computer or phone. Remove Background also works inside Photoshop with our Photoshop plugin.

What is a credit?

Each tool uses a set number of credits:

  • Backdrop Blend: 3 credits
  • Remove Background (Photo Studio or Photoshop plugin): 1 credit
  • Upscale: 2 credits
  • Photo Enhance: 2 credits
  • Enhance + Upscale: 4 credits

Adjusting, resizing, and downloading your results is always free.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. New customers get 3 free credits to try any Photo Studio tool, including Remove Background. We ask for a card to prevent abuse, but you won't be charged. One free trial per account.

What's the difference between monthly, annual, and 1-Time Purchase?
  • Monthly plan: a new batch of credits every month.
  • Annual plan: the same monthly credits, paid once a year. You save about 2 months' cost. Annual plans start with our Founding Member offer on November 27.
  • 1-Time Purchase: a single pack of credits with no subscription. These credits never expire.

You can have a plan and 1-Time Purchase credits at the same time.

What is the Founding Member price?

Customers who join during our Founding Member offer (November 27, 2026 to January 4, 2027) keep that annual price every year for as long as their plan stays active. If you cancel, the Founding Member price ends and can't be restored.

Do unused credits roll over?

Plan credits (monthly or annual) last until your next monthly credit date, then a fresh batch arrives. Unused plan credits don't carry over. 1-Time Purchase and add-on credits never expire.

Which credits get used first?

We always use the credits that expire soonest, so your plan credits are used before your 1-Time Purchase and add-on credits.

What if I run out of credits?
  • Annual subscribers can buy add-on credits at a lower price, or upgrade to a bigger plan. When you upgrade, you pay only the difference for the rest of your year, and the extra credits arrive right away.
  • Everyone else can buy a 1-Time Purchase pack, or switch to an annual plan and save.
Can I change or cancel my plan?

Yes. Click Manage billing on this page or in My Account.

  • Monthly plan changes take effect on your next renewal date.
  • Switching from monthly to annual starts your annual plan right away. Your monthly plan stops at its next renewal, and you keep this month's credits.
  • Annual upgrades start right away. Downgrades start at your renewal date.
  • Cancelling an annual plan stops the next renewal. Your monthly credits keep arriving until the end of the year you paid for.
  • We email you about 30 days before an annual plan renews.
Does a failed result use credits?

No. Credits are only used when your result comes back successfully. If a blend or photo can't be finished, its credits are returned to your account automatically.

What kinds of photos can I use?

JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and iPhone (HEIC) photos, up to 100 MB each. Your photo comes back at its full original size.

How long are my results kept?

30 days. Download the ones you want to keep before then.

Can I order a print?

Yes. From any Backdrop Blend, you can order a photo print, a canvas, or a framed print. Prints are paid at checkout, not with credits, and are shipped to you.

Is this included with All Access?

No. Photo Studio by Ashe Design, including Remove Background and the Photoshop plugin, is separate from the All Access membership.

What is your refund policy?

We want you to be happy with your results. Every new account can claim 3 free credits so you can test Photo Studio by Ashe Design on your own photos before paying. A card is required, but you won't be charged.

14-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

You can request a full refund if all of these are true:

  1. It's your first purchase of Photo Studio by Ashe Design credits (a monthly plan, an annual plan, or a 1-Time Purchase).
  2. You bought it within the last 14 days.
  3. You're unhappy with the quality of the results and don't plan to use them.
  4. You've used 10 or fewer of the credits from that purchase.
  5. You, your account, and your business haven't received a refund under this guarantee before.

To request one, contact us with the address on your account and a short note about what didn't work. We'll reply within 5 business days. If approved, the payment is returned to your original payment method, and any credits left from that purchase are removed from your account. If it was a monthly or annual plan, the plan is cancelled.

Everything else

  • Monthly and annual renewals are not refundable. You can cancel anytime before your plan renews under Manage billing on this page or in My Account. You keep the credits you already have until they expire.
  • Cancelling an annual plan stops the next renewal. Your monthly credits keep arriving until the end of the year you paid for.
  • Founding Member pricing. If you joined during our Founding Member offer (November 27, 2026 to January 4, 2027), your Founding Member price renews each year for as long as your plan stays active. If you cancel or receive a refund, the Founding Member price ends and can't be restored.
  • Unused credits aren't refundable. Plan credits expire on your monthly credit date and don't carry over. 1-Time Purchase and add-on credits never expire.
  • Failed results never cost a credit. If a photo can't be processed, no credit is used, or the credits are returned automatically, so there's nothing to refund.
  • Charged by mistake? If you were charged twice or charged in error, contact us and we'll fix it.
